Thankful? Grateful?
Thanksgiving is a complicated holiday. I think of the stories I was falsely taught growing up about peaceful gathering has jaded my view. The holiday looks so much like colonialism & capitalism. And yet I had a wonderful dinner with family & had turkey for the first time in 6 years, finally allowing myself to veer off the strict vegetarian course because I felt like it. Playing poker with espresso martinis with family was fun, but returning home to the bed I freshly made before I left & the cat waiting for me filled me with warmth and something like gratitude. I hope you felt gratitude for the life you've created for yourself, and enjoyed whatever feelings, family & food your November holiday presented you with.

Sylvia Massy is a genius, innovator, and badass engineer. And yet, I stumbled upon this ridiculous video of her recording an electric guitar through a pickle. This is just...so ridiculous and amazing so please enjoy.
